Asphalt vents
Light end hydrocarbons emitted by hot asphalt are shock cooled when they contact the atmosphere creating a visible plume composed predominately of submicron liquid mist particles. This creates a "blue smoke" that can
coat equipment, cause unpleasant odors, escape into the atmosphere, and become health hazards when inhaled.
