	VARIOFLEX Valve VV 16/L - Turndown ratio of up to 1:12 The use of VARIOFLEX valve trays in mass and heat transfer processes provides the highest possible flexibility for both continuous and batch processes. Process flexibility is achieved by the ability of the open area of the VARIOFLEX valve to adjust itself continuously to suit the gas loading. The benefits of this feature are high uniform tray efficiency, high turndown capability, reduced energy consumption, and more stable process operations. Tray Design - High Turndown Capability A range of loading, or turndown ratio of 1:12 can be achieved with the VARIOFLEX valve. Throughout this range the pressure drop and the tray efficiency remain almost constant. This constant tray efficiency is due to the unique design of the VARIOFLEX valve which ensures that the gas is uniformly distributed across the tray. The design of our valve assures that all valves across the tray deck see gas even at the lowest vapor loadings. Comparison Contemporary valves operate in one of only two positions, they are either in the fully open or fully closed positions. This leads to the uneven flow of gas through the tray. This cannot occur with VARIOFLEX valves as every valve sees gas and they automatically adjust themselves to changing vapor loads. Tray Efficiency The VARIOFLEX tray's unique valve plate ensures an even distribution of the gas from the minimum design condition to the maximum design condition. Materials We offer trays in carbon and stainless steels, alloy materials, titanium and zirconium. A complete list of materials of construction is available upon request. Installation Whether a new column or a revamp, correct and timely installation of column internals is critical to keeping plant downtimes and costs to a minimum. Our installation service offers you the choice of either; a) a factory trained supervisor on site, or b) a full installation team made up of our own personnel. Research and test facilities The Viernheim location includes full test bay facilities, which alongside our in-house testing program can be made available for a client's own particular requirements. Further test facilities are available in our R & D centers in Wichita and Dallas. Hydraulic testing services are also available.
