If you downloaded and installed KG-TOWER version 4.0 software prior to November 1, 2009, and if you want to extend the expiration date to 31 January 2011, you will need to install the license renewal. To begin the process, please select License Agreement to review and accept the KG-TOWERŪ Software License Agreement. NOTE: KG-TOWERŪ version 4.0 software as of November 1, 2009 includes the 31 January 2011 license renewal date.

Utility for PRO/II Simulation Software
Download and Installation Instructions


The free utility that integrates KG-TOWER rating software with PRO/II simulation software is now updated for the release of KG-TOWERŪ version 4.0! The utility converts tower hydraulic information in PRO/II to a file that can be read by KG-TOWER software.

To download and install the utility, see the instructions below.

NOTE: This utility works only with version 4.0 of the
KG-TOWER program.

  1. Select Download PRO/II_KGTower.exe (1MB) to start the download process.
  2. Select Save to start the download.
  3. Navigate to the BIN folder of the PRO/II directory.
  4. Select Save to download the software.
  5. Select Close.

To start using the utility:

  1. Launch PRO/II.
  2. Converge the simulation and write the output file.
  3. Select the tower of choice by clicking on it once.
  4. Select the “Export to KG-TOWER” from the “Output” drop-down menu.

PRO/II to KG-TOWER Integration
The integration between KG-TOWER software and PRO/II eliminates the need for manual transfer of data, which allows the customer to do a large number of calculations in a very short time and removes the risk of data transfer errors.
  • Use PRO/II process simulation software to perform rigorous distillation, absorption and stripping calculations.
  • Launch the KG-TOWER utility from the PRO/II menu and view column liquid and vapor loads, select the stages that need to be studied in the KG-TOWER software, and start
    KG-TOWER software.
  • Do hydraulic calculations
    for Koch-Glitsch trays and packing using the same equations used by
    Koch-Glitsch engineers.
